Open day at the ICRT studios
Come and see where the station is made. Studio tours run through the afternoon, with presenters on hand between shows.
Once or twice a year the door marked staff only stands open, and anybody who wants to see where the station is made can walk through it.
Tours run in small groups, because the corridors are narrow and the studios are smaller than people expect. You will see the main on-air studio, the production booth and the newsroom, and if the timing falls right you will watch a bulletin being read from the other side of the glass.
Presenters are around between shows. They are generally happy to explain what all the faders do and rather less happy to explain what happens when somebody presses the wrong one.
There is nothing to book and nothing to pay: turn up and join the next group. Come early if you want the full tour rather than the short version, because the last groups of the day tend to be the largest. Children are welcome, and the on-air light is not a suggestion.
