    Inside the ICRT studios

A walk through the desk, the booth and the newsroom on a weekday morning.

The tour starts where every visitor starts, at the front desk, and then goes through the door most visitors never get past. On the other side it is smaller than people imagine: a corridor, studios off it, and a newsroom that seats fewer people than you would guess from the amount of news that comes out of it.

The camera follows a weekday morning in the order it happens. The overnight playlist still running. The first arrival of the day, with coffee and a running order. The moment the on-air light comes on and a conversation in the corridor stops mid-sentence, which happens without anybody being asked.

You get a proper look at the desk — the faders, the screens, the talkback, and the surprisingly analogue clock that everything is timed against. There is a stop in the newsroom while a bulletin is written, and a look at the racks of equipment that keep three frequencies on the air.

It is not a polished promotional film. It is a working building on an ordinary Tuesday, which is more interesting.
