Several streets in Xinyi are closed for the weekend, with bus routes diverted and the MRT unaffected.
A number of streets around Xinyi District are closed to traffic for the weekend, with the closures in place from early on Saturday until late on Sunday evening.
Bus routes through the area are diverted rather than cancelled, which means some stops are out of use and others have moved a block or two. The diversions are signed at the stops, and the marshals on the corners generally know more than the signs do.
The MRT is not affected. If you are heading into the district this weekend the train is the obvious answer — driving in is possible, but parking will be difficult and the one-way system around the closures is not intuitive.
Residents and deliveries have access throughout. Anyone who needs to reach an address inside the closed section should approach from the outside of the loop and expect to be asked where they are going.
