Catch up: the week in podcasts
Four new episodes this week, and which one to start with if you only have one commute.
A week of episodes, gathered so that nothing gets lost. Taiwan This Week took the long view on a short week of weather warnings. The Long Play spent an hour on records that belong to a particular Taipei summer and got pleasantly sidetracked into what makes a summer record a summer record at all.
On the learning side, two shorter episodes: one on small talk, which is harder than it sounds in any language, and one on getting through a phone call without rehearsing it first.
If you have one journey to fill, start with the learning episodes. They are the shortest and the most immediately useful. If you have an afternoon and a decent pair of headphones, start with The Long Play and let it run.
Everything is here to stream and everything stays up. Podcasts are the one part of a radio station that does not expire at the end of the hour, which remains one of the better things about them.
